I woke up this morning to more snow. How many of you are out there thinking, "What does she expect? She moved to Maine for crying out loud." I thought that exact thing as I was brushing the snow off my car so that I could transport the Baby Boy to school. Why no bus this morning? Because *gasp* he is in high school and today is the first day of finals for the first semester. So as a reward, parents get to gulp down that first cup of coffee, exchange pajamas for jeans, boots, gloves and assorted winter gear, and clean the snow off their cars in order to drive their teenager to school on rather slippery roads. Only to turn around at noon and go back on even more treacherous roads to pick them up. The teenagers love it. I won't mention the array of four letter words that were spewing from parental units this morning regarding it.
I discovered a new magazine yesterday. I'm not sure if I was excited or depressed to have found it on the magazine rack at Rite Aid. It's called More and it says it celebrates women over 40. As much as I hate to admit it, 41 is over 40, so that would be me. It's rather like a Glamour or Cosmopolitan for the 40+. Which means they don't take it for granted that you've got dewy fresh skin, or that you're a size 4 or that you're ultimately looking to find Mr. Right and settle down. I rather enjoyed the magazine. It was refreshing and didn't make me feel old just because I'm divorced and not 25. Of course this in no way means I'll abandon Cosmo and Glamour. I think I'll just add this magazine to the reading list.
And of course, today will be filled with more job hunting. I already have one resume ready to be mailed out today and expect to send several more before the mailman completes his appointed rounds. ...through rain or snow...or.... how does that go anyway?
After brainstorming ways of possibly making a bit of money to help me pay some crucial bills, I decided to sell off some of my scrapbooking supplies on ebay. I expect to have several more auctions running by the end of the day. At least that's my plan. Of course, when I'm under the influence of two cups of Dunkin Donuts coffee almost anything seems possible... (God Bless you Bryan and Becky!)
