Paris says that jail has changed her. She'll no longer 'act dumb' because she thinks it's cute. (I've got news for you Paris, it was never cute, it was just...dumb) She wants to be a better role model for young girls. All of this information is given to Barbara Walters in a phone interview from jail. Ok...wait. The girl is barely back in the slammer and she gets the privilege of a phone call to a glorified celebrity gossip maven? (Don't go giving me Barbara's news credentials, she hasn't done serious stuff for a long time now has she? and she is the driving force behind 'the View') It appears Ms. Hilton has all of a sudden found religion as well. Stating that God has given her a new chance. Hey honey, it's not like you were on death row...you've always had that chance. You had that chance when your license was suspended. You expect us to believe that a few days in jail is really going to change you. I'll believe it when I see it. Long term. I quicker believe that she's making all these statements to try to insure a good behavior status. She may be in jail, but she's still gaining preferential treatment. Like her parents not having to wait in line to see her. How is Paris supposed to learn anything if her parents themselves are passing on the 'we are privileged and are above the rules' attitude? Maybe her parents should have to pay for their daughter's blatant disregard for the law. And I don't mean with money. Perhaps community service? Or parenting classes?
And wait, not just them, but let's add Lindsay Lohan's mom to that, and Lionel Richie. Because lets face it, they've made the monsters. This is what happens when there are no boundaries and enough money and/or celebrity to pay your way out of what most people would have to deal with. I don't hold out much hope for a big change in Paris, Lindsay, Nicole or any of the poor little rich girls.
