Happy Valentine's Day

First, let me thank Pablo for wishing me a Happy St. Valentines Day, that was very sweet and Happy Valentine's Day to you too Pablo. Next, Happy Valentine's to all of you from Princess Girly Girl. I don't care if you're coupled up in a Valentine's fairy tale like my daughter or single like me, a girl just can't ignore Valentine's Day. A lot has been said about the high expectations the holiday brings. After all, don't all the commercials show the girl's sweetheart buying her expensive jewelry? And I'm sure there are some girls who do expect expensive gifts. But I believe there are plenty of women out there that would be happy with a simple card and a kiss.
Then there are the girls who get sad because they don't have a honey for Valentine's Day. I say, get over it. Be your own Valentine. Buy your own Valentine's gift. Love yourself!
For example, I just received my Valentine's gift to me in the mail yesterday. A belly dancing instruction video and a new digital camera. (No, I will not be taking pictures of myself belly dancing) A few years ago I got the complete collection of Sex and the City on DVD. Let me tell you it's fun to be your own Valentine. Take yourself out to dinner. In fact, invite one of your other single friends and make it a real date. The holiday is about love but that doesn't mean it has to be romantic love. Celebrate the people you love in your lives, and don't forget those furry, four legged ones that love you unconditionally. Ok, so it's Valentines Day...carpe diem!!
