Who Listens to these Nutcases?

It became apparent to me yesterday as I was reading this article that nutcases actually get results when they spout their ridiculous garbage. The article begins:

A Dunkin Donuts ad featuring Rachael Ray was pulled after conservative commentators argued the talk show host's scarf implied support of Muslim extremism.
Is that not the most ridiculous accusation you've ever heard? Do we have to start worrying about our wardrobe accessories here in America? These people call themselves conservatives, but I think they're just crazy. Are these the same people who see subliminal messages in Disney movies and think that literary masterpieces should be banned if there are sexual references at all. I find it disturbing that these people actually get results, since Dunkin Donuts pulled the online ad.
Here we are, in the midst of a recession, brought on by astronomical gas prices and all these conservatives can find to talk about is Rachael Ray's scarf?? And no one brings them up on the moronic nature of that complaint? It's just a freaking scarf for crying out loud, stop making it something more. Girly girls should not have to worry if their choice of outfit for the day is going to be considered a political statement.
Personally, I think Michelle Malkin just said it because she's jealous of Rachael Ray...the fame, the money....the coffee.

Plus Sized?? Gimme a Break.

So, the media outlets are calling the newest winner of America's Next Top Model plus sized. Are you kidding me? Does this look plus sized to you?
I don't think so. I realize that they are talking modeling standards, but what kind of message is this sending to women? That a size 10 is plus sized? How many girls and women are going to hear those words associated with this gorgeous, slender woman and feel like they are too fat? How many more women are going to fall victim to eating disorders because of the unrealistic standards of the fashion industry? I'm plus-sized, with all of my glorious curves, this chick...she's slim, slender and svelte. Come on people, stop the madness.

Forks in the Road

I'm not talking literal silverware here. It seems like everytime I think I know what direction my life is heading in, suddenly I come to a roadblock or fork in the road. Roadblocks are difficult, but one has to find a way around in order to move forward. Forks...those are a completely different story. Forks mean you have a choice to make. And sometimes choices aren't so easy. What if you make the wrong one and end up in the wrong place?
I've spent the past four days enjoying sunshine, relaxation and the company of a good friend. Through several days of in-depth conversations, I was left questioning my 'rock solid' plan for the future. Doubts were placed that perhaps once again I was jumping in with the wrong intentions or without testing the depth of the waters. Tomorrow morning I'll head back to the 'real world' feeling unsure and unstable; looking for a sign of just which path I'm meant to follow...
